Eureka City Council members got a detailed look Monday at the city’s capital program, which staff said included about $21 million in completed projects and about $41 million in projects still in progress.
The presentation, part of the council’s June 2 meeting, highlighted a wide mix of work: City Hall modernization, the operations complex and corp yard relocation, Municipal Auditorium West Wing improvements, the South Eureka Gateway Sign, Halverson Park Trail work, Grace Martin Park, Westside flood reduction and sea level rise mitigation, and multiple street, sewer, stormwater, park, trail and bike boulevard projects.
According to the meeting summary, council members pressed staff on paving priorities, solar readiness at city facilities, dredging plans and funding for boat-launch improvements. The agenda for the meeting had also listed the council’s planned receipt and adoption of the 2026 Capital Improvement Program and a study session on the FY2026-27 budget.
The city’s presentation did not break out the $41 million by funding source, project-specific cost or timeline in the summary available for review.
