The Jacoby Creek School Board unanimously approved a series of financial, transportation and accountability actions Sept. 14, while district staff reported a $7,000 general-fund balance.
According to the board’s meeting minutes, finance staff said the unaudited actuals had gone well, the books closed where the district wanted them and high enrollment was not expected to reduce the balance. Board President Danielle Witten thanked finance staff for maintaining the district’s fiscal condition through a large insurance assessment. The minutes do not state the assessment’s dollar amount or provide a year-over-year comparison for the fund balance.
Trustees approved Resolution No. 1 adopting the 2026-27 Gann Limit, which sets the applicable spending-limit framework for the fiscal year. They also approved a transportation agreement covering all of the district’s bus service. The minutes do not specify the agreement’s cost or term.
The board approved the final 2026-27 Local Control Accountability Plan, described in the minutes as including minor budget-item changes, and approved the Prop. 28 Annual LEA Report. The meeting record also lists a K-3 math curriculum adoption as an information item, rather than a formal action in the financial and operating package.
The approvals set the district’s reported financial, transportation and accountability framework for the 2026-27 school year. Additional budget documents would be needed to assess the district’s reserve position or compare its balance with prior years.
