Yuba City’s council was scheduled to consider a two-year successor labor agreement with Public Employees’ Union, Local 1/AFSCME 57 at its July 21 meeting.
According to the council agenda packet and staff report, the proposed memorandum of understanding would run from June 27, 2026 through June 30, 2028. The report says the deal would add paid time off, increase standby pay, preserve medical contribution levels for 2027 and require additional compensation survey work.
The labor item was listed on the meeting’s consent calendar, alongside other city business including a resurfacing contract, budget adjustments for a water project and a renewal of the Yuba Sutter Regional SWAT Team agreement. The agenda packet did not include the estimated fiscal impact of the Local 1 deal or the full comparison with the prior contract.
