Sutter County supervisors are scheduled to consider appointing Nicolas Oliver as interim agricultural commissioner at their Aug. 25 meeting, with the role effective Sept. 5, 2026, according to the county’s agenda summary and agenda packet.
The appointment appears on the County Administrator’s appearance items for the board’s regular meeting in Yuba City. The packet and agenda summary identify Oliver as the proposed interim agricultural commissioner, but they do not say whether the board ultimately approved the appointment, whether it changed the effective date, or how long the interim assignment is expected to last.
The agricultural commissioner’s office is responsible for county agricultural regulation and pest-related programs, and the Aug. 25 agenda also includes agricultural items involving the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
