Rio Dell City Council approved a $54,035 budget amendment Tuesday night to buy an AeroMod cake pump system for the city’s wastewater operations.
At the July 7 meeting, minutes of the meeting show council members adopted Resolution No. 1674-2026 and authorized the purchase after Wastewater Superintendent Marshall Moore said the existing ribbon screw conveyance on the belt filter press had developed a bend that was damaging the press liner. He told the council the problem was forcing significant maintenance about every four months.
Moore said staff consulted AeroMod, identified in the minutes as the original equipment manufacturer, and recommended replacing the ribbon screw conveyance with a cake pump system. He said the proposed system would cost about $54,000 and would eliminate the recurring liner wear. He also said a cheaper replacement ribbon screw, estimated at about $30,000, would not solve the underlying problem.
The July 7 agenda identified the item as the replacement of belt filter press cake conveyance components and an associated budget amendment.
The council’s action also included a finding that AeroMod was the sole-source vendor under Rio Dell Municipal Code 3.30.070, according to the minutes.
