Rio Dell’s City Council moved ahead June 16 with two infrastructure spending items on its consent calendar: a $690,335 construction contract for earthquake repairs at the chlorine contact basin and a $229,951 amendment to the city’s sewer-line consulting agreement.
According to the meeting minutes, the council approved a construction contract with Wahlund Construction for the Chlorine Contact Basin Earthquake Damage Repair Project and authorized execution of the contract documents. The same minutes show the council also approved Amendment No. 1 to the GHD Inc. professional services agreement for the Painter Street Sewer Line Replacement Project, increasing the consultant contract by $229,951 to a revised total of $442,087 and extending completion to July 30, 2027.
The June 16 agenda placed both items on the consent calendar, along with other routine administrative and infrastructure actions. The minutes say the consent calendar passed 4-0.
The record does not say whether either cost increase is covered by grants, insurance proceeds, reserves or other appropriations.
