The Northern Humboldt Union High School District Governing Board’s June 18 special-session agenda is packed with policy revisions and next-year planning items, according to the district packet.

Among the items up for second reading are revisions to Board Bylaw 9270 and Exhibit 9270 on conflict of interest, which the packet says would update disclosure and recusal rules, ethics-training timing and when trustees may seek legal advice. The same agenda also includes proposed changes to Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5144.1 on suspension and expulsion, with language addressing off-campus conduct, rehabilitation planning, Title IX-related discipline limits, substance-use disclosure, readmission and hearing procedures.

The board is also set to revisit policies on student conduct, staff technology use, professional standards and appropriate adult-student interactions. The packet says those updates are meant to reflect newer state requirements and strengthen expectations for behavior in district settings.

Beyond policy, the board is scheduled to consider approval of the 2026-27 Local Control and Accountability Plans and annual updates for both NHUHSD and SRCHS, along with the 2026-27 NHUHSD budget. The packet summary does not include dollar figures or the board’s final action, and the meeting materials available here do not show whether members amended any of the proposals before voting.
