The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors is set to open public hearings Monday on the county’s proposed Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget and the budgets of the special districts it governs, with June 18 targeted for adoption.
According to the board’s June 15 agenda, supervisors are scheduled to convene first as the Board of Directors for the special districts, take public testimony, approve those budgets with any final modifications, and set the adoption date for June 18.
The agenda then calls for the board to reopen the county budget hearing, hear a presentation on the State Legislative Program, receive a staff report and public testimony, and continue the hearing to 5:30 p.m. if needed for additional comments and updates.
The notice says the meeting will be held as a hybrid session and highlights Zoom and email participation options, while noting that in-person attendance or written submission are the only guaranteed ways to have comments received and considered.
The agenda does not include final budget totals, and it is not yet clear what, if any, amendments supervisors may propose during the hearings.
