The Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation & Conservation District board voted 3-0 in closed session on Aug. 13 to appoint Stole Reeves as special counsel for permitting and environmental review tied to the heavy lift marine terminal project, according to the district’s meeting record. Executive Director Michelson was authorized to sign the engagement.

The appointment is a discrete step in the district’s work on the offshore wind terminal project, which remains under active discussion and review. The supporting meeting materials identify the project as the Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind heavy lift marine terminal.

The record available here does not include the engagement letter, cost, term or a fuller description of the special counsel’s duties. It also does not say whether the appointment replaces existing counsel or adds to it.
