Fortuna City Council on Aug. 17 named the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce the preferred operator for River Lodge and authorized the city manager to negotiate and execute a lease and operating agreement, subject to final council approval.
The decision came during a regular meeting in which the council also considered a River Lodge operations and management request for proposals. According to the meeting agenda, the River Lodge item was listed as a business matter for operator selection.
The minutes show Mayor Pro Tem Tami Trent moved the selection and Council Member Carlos Diaz seconded it. The motion passed 4-0, with Council Member Kyle Conley absent.
The available minutes do not include the eventual lease terms, financial details, or a rationale for selecting the Chamber over any competing proposals. Those details may emerge if the council returns with a final agreement for approval.
