Fortuna City Council has scheduled a closed session for Aug. 3 to discuss River Lodge Conference Center property negotiations with three separate public counterparties, according to the special-meeting agenda published by the city.
The agenda lists the River Lodge Conference Center at 1800 Riverwalk Drive as the property under discussion and names City Manager Amy Nilsen as the agency negotiator for all three items. It identifies the negotiating parties as the Fortuna Union High School District, the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce and the California Department of General Services on behalf of CAL FIRE. The agenda says the talks concern the “price and terms of payment.”
The special meeting notice says council may take action on any item on the agenda, but the closed-session items themselves do not disclose any proposed deal terms or the city’s preferred outcome. A report-out is scheduled after closed session, though the agenda does not indicate any action has already been taken.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Aug. 3 at City Hall, 621 11th Street, with a Zoom option listed in the notice. The agenda was published July 29. The city’s special-meeting agenda is the public record identifying the negotiations, and the city’s regular meeting agenda is scheduled separately for later the same day.
