The Fortuna City Council has scheduled a special meeting for 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, to consider a public-employee appointment for the title Chief of Police.
According to the City Council’s meeting agenda, the council will convene at City Hall, 621 11th St., then adjourn to closed session for the personnel matter. The agenda lists a report-out and adjournment after the closed session.
The agenda does not identify a nominee or say whether the council will make an appointment. It also does not provide a start date, compensation or other employment terms. The council roster listed for the meeting includes Mayor Mike Johnson, Mayor Pro Tem Tami Trent and council members Kyle Conley, Carlos Diaz and Abe Stevens.
