The Yuba County Water Agency Board of Directors was asked on Sept. 1 to continue emergency contracting authority for repairs tied to the Colgate Penstock incident, according to the board’s agenda.
The agenda said staff recommended extending the authority under Public Contract Code section 22050 because repair work was still in progress. It also noted the item required a 4/5 vote.
The public record available with the agenda does not show the board’s final vote or how much additional work would be authorized. It also does not explain the underlying cause of the incident or provide a total repair cost.
The item appeared on the board’s Sept. 1 regular meeting agenda in Marysville.
