Yuba Water Agency’s board voted June 16 to continue emergency contracting authority for repairs tied to the Colgate Penstock incident, according to draft minutes from the meeting.
The consent item said the board reviewed emergency contracting actions concerning the incident and determined there was a need to continue the emergency action under Public Contract Code section 22050(c)(2). The minutes say the motion to approve consent items passed on a roll call vote with all directors present voting yes.
The agenda packet had framed the item as a request to keep emergency contracting authority in place while Colgate repairs continued, and the minutes show staff said electrical restoration work at Colgate was still underway. The maintenance update also said the agency was continuing in-house testing of the Colgate 2 main unit transformer and preparing to test Colgate 1, while other crews handled maintenance and inspection support at the site.
The board did not discuss a repair cost total or completion timeline in the minutes available here.
