Yuba City’s Aug. 12 special City Council agenda puts a proposed temporary closure of Sam Brannan Park and a related funding transfer before council.
The agenda says the council is being asked to approve a temporary closure of the park effective Sept. 1 and to authorize the city manager or designee to make budget transfers of up to $265,000 for remediation and improvements at Sam Brannan Park.
The agenda does not say what specific safety issue prompted the proposed closure or what work the remediation would cover. It also does not show a council vote, since it is only the agenda for the special meeting.
Mayor Marc Boomgaarden called the special meeting under California Government Code Section 54956, according to the agenda. The meeting notice lists a 3 p.m. start in Council Chambers and via Zoom.
