Yuba County supervisors adopted the county’s fiscal year 2026-27 budget on a 3-2 vote Tuesday, approving a spending plan that totals $411,031,247 in operating funds.
At the Sept. 8 meeting, the board held a public hearing on the budget before voting 3-2 to approve the resolution, according to the meeting summary. Supervisors Renick House, Gary Bradford and Jon Messick voted in favor, while Andy Vasquez and Chair Seth Fuhrer voted no.
The adopted budget also includes $1,035,910 for airport enterprise funds, $2 million for the law enforcement stabilization fund, $4.4 million for economic uncertainty, $500,000 for the PARS 115 trust, $1 million for reserves, $2.9 million for contingency, $4,039,904 for the capital projects fund, $250,000 for the PC replace fund and $49,204,215 for total internal services funds, the minutes say.
County Administrator Kevin Mallen presented the budget and recapped the overview, budget changes, reserves and contingencies, and the recommended actions for approval. The summary does not say what prompted the two no votes.
The board’s action came during a meeting that also included approvals for a jail ceiling restoration request for proposals, a small claims advisor agreement with Yuba Sutter Legal Center, and a public hearing on delinquent water and sewer charges for River Highlands Community Services District.
