Shasta County has formally notified the City of Redding that it will terminate a lease covering property at 7251 Eastside Road in Redding and 7051 Eastside Road in Anderson, according to a Sept. 15 letter signed by Board of Supervisors Chair Chris Kelstrom.
The notice, addressed to the city manager at the city’s Cypress Avenue offices, says the county is giving written notice under Section 2.2 of the lease agreement between the City of Redding and the County of Shasta. It states the lease will end effective Oct. 16, 2026.
The letter does not explain why the county is ending the lease or what will happen next at the properties. It does provide a contact for follow-up questions: Bryce Ritchie, a senior administrative analyst with the county.
The county and city have not, based on the notice alone, identified any successor use for the sites.
