Shasta County supervisors advanced $176,931.02 in delinquent County Service Area water and sewer fees onto property-tax bills and approved writing off $1,271.74 in uncollectible CSA debts during a July 28 public hearing.
In the delinquent-fee action, the board adopted the annual reports for County Service Areas No. 3-Castella, No. 6-Jones Valley, No. 8-Palo Cedro, No. 11-French Gulch, No. 13-Alpine Meadows, No. 17-Cottonwood and No. 23-Crag View, according to the staff report. The report said the largest share was in Cottonwood at $108,518.92, followed by Jones Valley at $37,682.83.
The board also directed that the delinquent charges be placed on the affected tax bills and collected in the same manner as county property taxes, the report said.
Separately, supervisors adopted the annual reports of uncollectible debts for Jones Valley, Palo Cedro, Cottonwood and Crag View and approved discharge of accountability for a combined $1,271.74, according to the resolution. The supporting table shows the total split among the four CSAs, with Cottonwood carrying the largest share at $764.03.
