The Redding Planning Commission has forwarded Bullard Contractors’ applications for a contractor storage yard at 2520 and 2530 Lockheed Drive to the City Council, according to the commission’s Sept. 22 meeting record.
The applications seek a site-development permit, a rezoning from General Commercial to General Industry and a general-plan amendment for the parcels near Redding Regional Airport. The commission’s recommendation includes a 50-foot maximum height for materials stored in the yard and requires durable, non-wood material for the western screening fence.
The Airport Land Use Commission previously found the general-plan amendment inconsistent with the airport-area Comprehensive Land Use Plan. If the City Council chooses to approve the amendment over that finding, state law requires a two-thirds vote and findings addressing public health, safety and welfare, the commission record says.
