The Anderson City Council voted unanimously Sept. 1 to introduce an ordinance updating the process for nominating Planning Commission members and schedule its adoption for a second reading Sept. 15, according to the city council meeting minutes.
The ordinance would amend Chapter 2.48 of the Anderson Municipal Code. The minutes do not describe how the nomination process would change. The council waived a full reading and directed the city clerk to read the ordinance by title only.
In a separate 5-0 vote, the council adopted Resolution No. 26-41 concerning Planning Commission compensation under Government Code section 36506. The minutes do not state the compensation amount.
The Sept. 15 second reading is the next scheduled step for the ordinance. The ordinance text and the resolution attachment were not included in the retrieved minutes.
