Humboldt County supervisors voted unanimously Oct. 20 to authorize the county’s purchase of three parcels near the Humboldt County Courthouse and to award an $875,125 tenant-improvement contract for county offices at 2420 Sixth Street in Eureka.
Under the board’s action summary and minutes, the county will execute a real-property purchase agreement with Michael Cho for 1101, 1117 and 1119 Fourth St. The vote was 5-0, with Supervisors Rex Bohn, Michelle Bushnell, Mike Wilson, Natalie Arroyo and Steve Madrone voting yes.
The same meeting’s action summary says Adams Commercial General Contracting Inc. was the lowest responsible and responsive bidder for the Economic Development and Department of Child Support Services Tenant Improvement Project, Project No. 2025-601. Supervisors awarded the contract for $875,125 and authorized the county purchasing agent to approve change orders of up to $87,512.50. The board also approved an amendment to the lease for 2420 Sixth St.
The Fourth Street record reviewed for this story does not state the purchase price, funding source, closing date or a final plan for the properties. The county’s action completes the board approvals for the two facilities actions, while details about the acquisition and the timing and scope of the Sixth Street work remain to be clarified.
