Yuba-Sutter Transit is proposing to extend temporary property arrangements tied to Caltrans’ State Route 70 Binney Junction project, which the agency expects to begin affecting transit operations in spring 2027.
Under an item on the Yuba-Sutter Transit Board’s Oct. 15 agenda, two temporary construction easements would be extended through June 1, 2028. The agenda also proposes an 18-month Airport Land and Building Lease Agreement with Yuba County for airport property at 1430 Melody Road in Olivehurst, with the lease running through June 30, 2028.
The Olivehurst site would be used for temporary fleet relocation during construction, according to the agenda materials. Caltrans would continue paying $12,500 per month in rent and reimburse additional costs associated with the disruption. The agenda says final settlement terms were still under negotiation when it was prepared.
The materials do not state the total reimbursement exposure or spell out the precise operational changes expected during construction. The proposed arrangements remain subject to the board’s action and any final settlement or lease documents.
