Eureka City Council’s June 16 agenda puts several big-ticket decisions on the table at once, including water and wastewater bond financing, next year’s budget and fee schedule, and resolutions tied to the November municipal election.
According to the agenda packet, council is set to hold a public hearing on proposed Water System Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 2026 and Wastewater System Revenue Bonds, Series 2026. The agenda lists multiple supporting resolutions and financing documents for the two bond items, but the packet excerpt reviewed does not specify dollar amounts.
The same meeting agenda also schedules public hearings on the city’s FY2026-27 Proposed Budget, including the Eureka Public Financing Authority budget, and on the FY2026-27 Proposed Fee Schedule. The packet also references an annual vacancy-rate presentation tied to AB 2561.
On the consent calendar, council is slated to consider resolutions calling the Nov. 3, 2026 General Municipal Election, including a charter amendment question and an election of municipal officers, along with requests to consolidate those elections with Humboldt County and have county officials provide election services.
The agenda also includes other consent items, such as adding a Communications Call-Taker classification, extending the city attorney contract, applying for Encampment Resolution Funding Program Round 5, and making mayoral appointments to two commissions. Final votes and any amendments were not included in the agenda materials reviewed.
