A Sutter County committee packet outlines a proposed 67-month agreement with Axon Enterprise to implement the Justice Premier Plus Plan, including Axon Justice–PSO–Fast Pass, for the District Attorney’s Office.

Under the Nov. 2 Agriculture, Public Protection and General Government Committee packet, the initial term would run from Dec. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, at an amount not to exceed $20,860. Axon’s Oct. 16 quote lists a total contract value of $219,552 through June 30, 2032.

The staff report says the District Attorney’s Office would increase its fiscal 2026-27 Services and Supplies appropriation by $20,860, offset with salary savings from a vacancy in the Criminal Investigation division. It also seeks authorization for the District Attorney to renew and maintain the agreement annually beginning July 1, 2027.

The proposed platform would replace a process the office describes as relying on CDs and USB drives to store and share digital evidence. The report says Axon Justice would centralize evidence in cloud storage, track the chain of custody and allow authorized users—including prosecutors and defense counsel—to access evidence through shared links.

The request also asks the Board of Supervisors to waive the requirement for a request for proposals under Sutter County Ordinance 16-050. The staff report recommends that the committee recommend the agreement and related actions to the Board, but the packet does not establish whether the committee acted on the recommendation or whether the Board approved the agreement. It also does not include an executed agreement or confirm that the quoted price and terms were unchanged.
