Redding City Council heard a public complaint Monday over an airport tower and nearby property that one speaker said belongs to Shasta Supermodo.
During public comment, Mark Monroe said an airport manager changed the locks on a tower, asserted city control over the property and allowed third-party equipment use that he said was damaging the site, according to the meeting recording. The meeting summary identifies Monroe as a representative of Shasta Supermodo and says he raised questions about insurance, property control, tower locks and airport-property issues.
The record does not establish who owns the tower or adjacent property, what lease or management terms may apply, or how city officials responded beyond directing Monroe to follow up with the assistant city manager. The summary says council members later asked that the matter return in closed session.
The airport dispute was one of several topics raised during the June 2 meeting, which also included Juneteenth comments, a bond-refinancing item and a Brown Act compliance report.
