The Northern Humboldt Union High School District Governing Board unanimously sustained the superintendent’s decision in a closed-session appeal involving a challenge to student records, according to the board’s Aug. 11 minutes.
In the minutes, the board said that after the closed-session hearing on Item 3.1, it voted unanimously to uphold the superintendent’s ruling in an appeal tied to a challenge to student records under Education Code Section 49070 and Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5125.3.
The minutes do not identify the student, describe the records at issue or explain the basis for the challenge.
The board met Aug. 11 at the McKinleyville High School Library in McKinleyville. After the closed-session report, the board went on to approve its consent agenda, a county-wide interdistrict attendance agreement, a local assignment option waiver for two staff members, several policy and administrative regulation items, and district grant and facilities actions.
The minutes also say the board later reconvened in closed session for a superintendent performance evaluation and reported no other action taken before adjourning.
