The Assembly approved SB 168, a clean-energy measure that would create a light-duty zero-emission vehicle incentive program and redirect $22 million in existing unused funds to the Demand Side Grid Support Program, according to the floor-session summary.

The bill advanced during a June 29 floor session that also included debate over broader budget trailer bills and clean-energy policy. A summary of the session said Assemblymember Gabriel presented SB 168, while Assemblymember Tongipa spoke in opposition.

The same floor session saw the Assembly move several other budget-related bills, including SB 171, a labor trailer bill, and SB 163, the developmental services trailer bill, as well as SB 180, a taxation-related measure. The chamber also adopted HR 88 to commemorate America’s 250th birthday and took up other measures on housing, elections and energy.

The available reporting does not yet include the enrolled text of SB 168, so the exact implementation details, eligibility rules and any effective-date language are not confirmed in this run.
