Yuba County supervisors unanimously approved an agreement Sept. 22 with Dr. Radha Sadacharan for temporary Health Officer coverage and medical consulting through June 30, 2028.
The agreement runs from Oct. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028, according to the Board of Supervisors’ summary of proceedings. The county’s Health and Human Services Department presented the item.
The agenda staff report and agreement set a maximum contract fee of $252,000. The agreement lists rates of $200 per hour for medical consulting and Health Officer coverage, and $35 per hour for travel. Services are billed in 15-minute intervals.
County staff said Yuba County will recruit for a permanent Health Officer and that Sadacharan will provide interim coverage until that position is filled. The staff report says the Health Officer’s duties include enforcing state and local public-health laws, communicable-disease control, reporting local epidemics to the California Department of Public Health, and enforcing Board of Supervisors public-health orders and ordinances.
The records do not state how much of the $252,000 maximum the county expects to use or provide a timeline for completing the permanent Health Officer recruitment.
