Our Heroes’ Dreams told the Shasta County Board of Supervisors that its opioid settlement contract is essentially spent, with $249,852 billed out of $250,000 approved and just $148 left.
In a program and expenditure update, the nonprofit said the settlement-funded work supported 30 veterans from December 2025 through May 2026. Services included 591 nights of lodging, 22.5 months of Camp Freedom placements, 652 meals, 13 counseling sessions, 10 crisis responses and eight appointment escorts, according to the update.
The report says the county approved the contract Feb. 24, 2026, for a term running from Dec. 15, 2025, through Dec. 14, 2026. It also says 160 billed lines matched the rates in Attachment B of the agreement and that the nonprofit maintained records for possible county, state or federal audit under Section 14.
The update said 76% of spending went to housing, food and residential care. It also said the organization invoiced six times between December and May and that there was no unreconciled variance between invoices, the client roster and bank deposits.
The program and expenditure update was presented to the Board of Supervisors as part of the county’s opioid settlement program paperwork.
