Humboldt County planning staff is recommending denial of two Samoa short-term rental applications on the Planning Commission’s June 4 agenda, even as the same hearing includes a separate bundle of other rental permits in the coastal communities.
The agenda shows staff recommending denial of the conditional use permit for Sandy Toes and the requested resolution to deny the permit. It makes the same recommendation for Oceanview, another Samoa-area short-term rental case.
Both properties are listed in Samoa, and the agenda identifies them by parcel number as well as by application name. The document also cites Section 15270 in connection with the denied cases.
The denials are part of a broader Planning Commission agenda that also includes a larger group of short-term rental cases in Samoa, Fairhaven, Manila and King Salmon, with staff recommending approval for those other applications. The commission’s final vote was not available in the agenda packet alone.
The Planning Commission is scheduled to meet June 4.
