The Humboldt County Association of Governments is scheduled to consider an agreement that would establish a Regional Climate Committee and a Climate Program Manager to implement the Humboldt Regional Climate Action Plan.
The item is on the agency’s Oct. 15 board meeting agenda as an action item for the Policy Advisory Committee. The committee is scheduled to consider recommending that the HCAOG Board approve signing the memorandum of understanding. The board is then scheduled to reconvene and consider the PAC’s recommendations.
The agenda lists a staff report, the memorandum and a summary of the regional climate action plan as enclosures. It does not establish whether the agreement will be approved, identify participating jurisdictions, specify the manager’s authority or terms, or state a funding source, budget amount or implementation timeline. Those details would need to be confirmed through the agreement and staff materials or after the meeting.
