Shasta County supervisors are being asked to advance two cybersecurity-related software subscriptions and to extend administrative purchasing authority for the county’s IT leadership through April 30, 2032.
According to a VMware procurement staff report, the county recommends approving a three-year VMware Cloud Foundation subscription purchase from CDW-G under Sourcewell Contract No. 121923, with maximum compensation of $225,210. The same report says the board would authorize the CIO or designee to execute amendments, renewals and related documents through April 30, 2032, with annual per-license increases capped at 10 percent.
A separate Checkpoint procurement staff report recommends approving a Checkpoint Cloud Email Gateway Software Service Subscription through Six Degrees Consulting under the California DGS Software Licensing Program. That item also would delegate authority to the CIO or designee through April 30, 2032, with annual per-license increases not to exceed 10 percent.
The board packet places both items among its procurement actions, but the excerpt available does not show the final vote tally or any discussion beyond the staff recommendations. The VMware packet also appears to contain an internal inconsistency on the maximum cost, citing $225,210 in one section and $225,120 in another, so the higher figure is reported here as the recommendation in the memo and should be confirmed in final action materials before publication.
