Two state grant-funded construction projects at Jacoby Creek School are nearing closeout but still await approval from California’s Division of the State Architect, according to the Jacoby Creek School Board’s Sept. 14 meeting minutes.
Superintendent/Principal Nannizzi told the board that the projects include two water-refill stations, a ramp behind Heidi Walsh’s room and work to address rainwater pooling outside Bridget Walsh’s room. The district can close out both projects without completing the lower-field work, the minutes say. The board did not identify the projects by name, provide final costs or give a closeout date.
The lower-field project is being advanced with a 1903 deed and assistance from engineer Michael Taylor, who performed zoning work for the project, according to the minutes. Nannizzi said that if the district does not receive permission from the state architect’s office, a Tribal Commission would need to meet with the California Coastal Commission to resolve the matter.
The district’s Sept. 14 agenda listed the state grant-funded construction update as an information item under facilities. The public documents do not specify the lower-field project’s design, parcel, deed details or the identity of the Tribal Commission, and they do not show whether any Coastal Commission filing has been made.
